New single at number 20 in Music Week's Cool Cuts chart plus new album cover revealed

Hi gang,

My new single 'Threads' is currently at number 20 in Music Week's Cool Cuts chart.

The single has been remixed by USA dance genius Morgan Page and comes out digitally on 18th January 2010. To see the sleeve and to hear early clips, visit Amazon.co.uk! This remix is so hot that it will also be a bonus track on the album of the same title, out in February.

We've just revealed the new album artwork, see at the top of this blog or visit EQ blog to see what he had to say about it!

Happy christmas to you all. Wishing you a happy festive season and much happiness in 2010.

Temposhark Podcast returns, Rising Star Awards, White Cubicle gallery.

I met up with producer genius MaJiKer yesterday in London's Soho and interviewed him for the first of a new series of the Temposhark Podcast.

It's the first Podcast I've posted for 2 years, so it's nice to be back in Podcast land. As always, you can download them for FREE from iTunes by clicking here: http://bit.ly/jV5iz

If you don't use iTunes, you can download the Podcast file directly from Libsyn here: http://bit.ly/B8fI8

Majiker, producer extraordinaire

Most of you will by now have MaJiKer's beautiful remix of new Temposhark track 'Threads' on the b-side of my brand new single. It's one of my favourite remixes ever as it really takes the track to a brand new place. You can listen to the mix at iTunes too (http://bit.ly/U1ufr). Thanks to everyone who downloaded the single this week as I had my highest electronic iTunes UK chart place so far! :)

In other news, I just heard Temposhark are in semi-finals of Rising Star Award for the British Music Week 2009! Thanks every1 who voted! Out of 10,000 bands!

Earlier this week I did lots of interviews including a cool one for BBC Manchester & BBC Lancashire with John Barnes. You can listen on the BBC iPlayer to catch it if you missed it: http://is.gd/3jL5h. My interview starts at the 1hr:5mins:45secs point on the iPlayer.

At BBC Radio's studios in Great Portland Street this week

I also did a fun interview with Phil Marriott at GaydarRadio.com which is now online in full to download as a Podcast by clicking here: http://bit.ly/JIKq3 Their website is also currently hosting my new music video for 'The World Does Not Revolve Around You'.

Finally, this Sunday 20th September I've been asked to 'cut the ribbon' to mark the opening of artist Julie Verhoeven's latest exhibition, in association with London Fashion Week, at the White Cubicle gallery in the bathroom of George & Dragon pub in East London. See you all there! http://www.whitecubicle.com Their nights are always a riot.

"They Would Not Listen; They Did Not Know How"

We've been writing a brand new song over the past few days. Today we're finishing the lyrics and on the train here this morning I really enjoyed listening to the demo on my phone. It sounding very different to the other songs, and I don't think we've really done a song like this before. It's got a laid back big bass groove, it reminds me of summer.

So it's an unexpected direction, which should add something different to the album as a whole. We've been playing with some different lyrical approaches too, tr
ying to make this less about a direct relationship and broader, looking at life from a larger scale I guess.

We had some good news on Thursday - South by Southwest music festival have invited us to play in Texas in March 2009. Our video to 'Blame' is also going to be screened the week before too at the SXSW Film Festival, so that's great too.

I love SXSW and can't wait to return to Austin, it's got a very different atmosphere to other parts of the USA that we've been to when touring, I think maybe because it's a lot smaller than some of the cities like New York, Chicago or LA for example
. We played at SXSW once before in 2007 and it was incredible. I'll always remember coming out on stage and the room was packed, with lots of people at the front singing the words to songs like 'Blame' and 'Not That Big' and I was really shocked. At that point, our first album hadn't even been released. It just proves the power the Internet has in sharing new music super fast.

I imagine some of you reading this might make music yourselves? If yes, then head over to Acid Planet now and download the parts to our song 'Joy'. We've decided to open a remix competition which starts today. I'm excited to hear what you come up with!

I'm 28 tomorrow. Yeehaah!

In other news - it's my birthday in the morning! I'll be 28!! Wow!! And I just found out that the clocks are changing so I get a whole EXTRA HOUR to celebrate... :) I'm having the day off out of the studio and will be celebrating with friends from late afternoon, I can't wait to catch up with everyone.
